UK Service Dogs Talk
Join Bryan Maddams from Service Dogs UK for an insightful and moving talk on how specially trained assistance dogs are transforming the lives of military veterans living with PTSD. Bryan will explain what PTSD is, explore its symptoms, and share how the charity carefully matches and trains dogs to support those who have served.
Accompanied by his own dog, Ferris, Bryan will also give a live demonstration, offering a powerful glimpse into the practical ways these remarkable dogs provide reassurance, independence and daily support to their partners.

Somerset Treasures
Harry Morris from the South West Heritage Trust will tell us about about some of the treasures of the collections of Somerset archives and local studies – from the oldest document in the collections (an Anglo Saxon Charter) to letters signed by Rudyard Kipling and Charles Dickens themselves! This talk will explore some of the most prized items from within the archive collections, and discuss how they came to be with us and what we can learn about our amazing county from them. Sometimes random, sometimes significant but always fascinating, these documents show our county at its best, as a treasure trove of lives lived before, and lives led now.
There will be a break between the talks. Price includes tea, coffee and biscuits.
