Something for everyone in Somerton this Summer!

It’s all happening in and around Somerton this summer. The Festival Fortnight begins on 30th June with Cardiff Strings at St Michael’s Church. Events to follow include music nights at our local hostelries, talks and walks. It all culminates with Somerton’s own music festival, Somerstock.  But before this, from the end of May into June there are pre festival events including craft and art workshops, live music from Twisted Vinyl at the Sports Club and the Art & Photography exhibition at the Parish Rooms.
“There is so much local talent in our area” claims event organiser Emma Burton. “Visitors to the festival can see it all and even learn some new skills themselves, whether music, history, crafts or bees are their thing”. There’s something going on to suit everyone at various locations around the town and many of the events are free.
Tickets are sale online now and also be available to buy from the new ticket office at The Stationery House in Somerton from 1st May. Numbers are limited so the organisers advise booking early!
The Somerton Music & Arts Festival is run for the community by local volunteers, and the organisers hope to see many visitors to the area, as well as local people, enjoying them over the summer.
