SUMMARY:Bringing History to Life
DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by Somerton’s Co-op and Pawsability \nThe Battle of Jutland: 110 years on \nJosh Bassett\, Founder of Historigraph is returning this year to talk about the Battle of Jutland – the largest single naval battle in history. Fought in May 1916 at the height of the First World War\, this titanic clash saw the British and German fleets clash\, with a combined 100\,000 sailors and 250 ships. At stake was naval control of the North Sea and with it perhaps the course of the entire war.  \n  \n \nNow you see me\, now you don’t! \nCamouflage has been used on military aircraft and vehicles for many\, many years\, but when did it actually start\, who had it first? Come and hear about some of the amazing versions of camouflage\,  zebra ships and find out why would you paint a Spitfire aircraft pink to make it harder to see? David Morris\, Curator of Aircraft at the Fleet Air Arm Museum talks us through the history of Camouflage\, colours and markings on military aircraft ships and vehicles\, with some intriguing\, surprizing and less obvious insights. \nThere will be a break between the talks at 8.15.  Price includes tea\, coffee and biscuits. \nTicket Prices:  Advance £9  |  Door £10 \nBUY YOUR TICKETS NOW!\n\n\n\n\n\nBringing History to Life\nTickets will also be available to purchase from Stationery House\, Somerton from 1st May with Early bird tickets available until Sunday 17th May. \nYou will be asked during the purchase process if you would like to Help Keep Zeffy Free!
