Veterans of the Glastonbury music scene\, Steve Bilsborough & John Carroll have developed a unique sound with diverse influences including New Wave\, Country\, and Pop! Their close harmonies and catchy tunes are full of poignant\, satirical and sometimes humorous lyrics with obscure subject matter such as: Bin Day\, the local bus route\, Shed ownership\, and grammatically challenged relationships. They’ve produced four albums to date\, and created a unique collection of virtual live performance videos during lockdown with thousands of Facebook views. Holding a celebration through the songs of Elton\, this band will bring glamour\, charm\, and opulence to this special event. They take an authentic approach to their shows\, perfectly mimicking the legend in his showmanship\, fashion sense and style. Prepare to be taken on a nostalgic journey with Elton’s biggest hits! \nPete Gallagher\, the piano and lead vocalist has an uncanny resemblance to Elton John\, not only in appearance\, but also through his powerful vocals\, matching costumes\, and energetic performances that will leave the audience second-guessing themselves. The other members of the band are also some of the finest musicians in the UK who perfectly capture each and every song performed by Elton. DESCRIPTION:Come and meet The Bohemians at St Michael and All Angels Church!\nBilled as the world’s most exciting Queen tribute act\, The Bohemians start proceedings as they mean to continue. \nRight from the beginning you will be gripped by a bombastic\, authentic audiovisual representation of Queen’s iconic Wembley ’86 performance as the Bohemians burst onto the stage to the strains of One Vision and A Kind of Magic. So many fabulous hits to be covered but they’re all here\, from the early piano and harmony heavy wonders of Killer Queen and Don’t Stop Me Now\, to the later\, catchy pop anthems of the eighties. \nThe stunning Breakthru provides both the introduction and the costume presentation for the next part of the set which includes a new feature of the Bohemians stage show\, a slick rendering of classics from the late eighties and early nineties era. I Want it all\, The Show must go on and the haunting\, Days of our Lives are just some of those featured. \nNext up it’s the sights and sounds of the famous Live Aid performance and of course\, the awesome Bohemian Rhapsody. Then it’s back to Wembley ‘86 for a suitably rousing finale when The Bohemians will have you on your feet\, singing\, dancing and clapping along to the likes of We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions. SUMMARY:Lonely Tourist at the Etsome Arms
DESCRIPTION:Bristol based Glaswegian duo The Lonely Tourist will be playing at the Etsome Arms as part of the Somerton Arts Festival. They have released two singles in 2023 – “Duty of Care” and “This Place Takes a Lot of Beating”  which have received airplay on BBC6 Music and BBC Radio Scotland. Both will be part of the 6th Lonely Tourist album\, due for release this year. \nHis fourth album Remuneration was  based around the concept of work and employment. Steve Lamacq chose one of the tracks “Frank the Barber” as one of his ‘Lamacq Liveners’ (played every day for a week on BBC 6music). Other singles “Luxury Coach” and “Last Day at Tony’s” have also featured on other 6music shows including Gideon Coe’s programme as well and being Radio Scotland singles of the week. In September 2018 Steve Lamacq picked Lonely Tourist’s “Ballad of Paul Tierney” as one of his all time favourites in 25 years of radio. \nThis is a FREE event but you will need to book your place direct with the Etsome Arms.
